Transform Your Smile with Dental Crowns in Cancun

Rebuild and protect damaged teeth with beautiful, durable crowns, at up to 70% less than U.S. prices! At Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry, we bring 25+ years of experience to every case, ensuring your new crowns look and feel just like natural teeth.

What Exactly Are Dental Crowns?

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that covers a damaged tooth, restoring its strength, shape, and appearance. Crowns are ideal if you have:

  • Cracked or Worn Teeth
  • Extensive Decay beyond a typical filling’s scope
  • Root Canal Treatments that leave teeth weakened
  • Old, Failing Restorations needing an update

Crafted from porcelain, zirconia, or porcelain-fused-to-metal, crowns blend seamlessly with your smile, keeping it natural-looking and functional for years.

Dental Crowns vs. Veneers vs. Bridges

  • Crowns: Encase the entire tooth, ideal for heavily damaged or weakened teeth.
  • Veneers: Cover only the front surface, best for minor imperfections or cosmetic enhancements.
  • Bridges: Use crowns as anchors on neighboring teeth, replacing a missing tooth or gap in between.

(We also offer full-arch solutions like All-on-4 if multiple teeth are missing or require extraction.)

How Our Crown Process Works

01

Consultation & Diagnosis

We assess your tooth via X-rays or 3D scans, confirm the need for a crown, and talk with you about sedation options if you’re nervous about drilling.

02

Tooth Preparation

Under local anesthesia, we remove decay or old restorations, then shape the tooth slightly to make space for the crown.

03

Impressions & Temporary Crown

We take digital or putty impressions. Meanwhile, you’ll receive a temporary crown for protection and aesthetics.

04

Customization in Our Lab

Skilled technicians create your permanent crown using FDA-approved materials, color-matched to blend perfectly with your adjacent teeth.

05

Final Placement

A few days later (often within 7–8 days for a full makeover), we remove the temporary and bond your permanent crown. After a final bite adjustment and polish, you’ll have a strong, stable tooth.

If you’re getting multiple crowns for a complete smile makeover, we often do them all in one week, perfect for a dental vacation in Cancun!

"Finally, for the first time in many years I can genuinely smile and not be ashamed"

Jd Gagnon

"As I would assume most people are, I was nervous about travelling to another country to receive critical and significant dental work. With that in mind, I was referred to Cancun cosmetic dentistry and was quickly filled with confidence.

Coming from USA, I had high standards of professionalism, cleanliness and expertise. Dr. Julian and his team of specialists far exceeded all of my expectations.

I had 28 crowns installed and a single root canal, so was a guest of the clinic for a little while. Prior to, between and after all appointments their patient services team was in constant contact with me ensuring my comfort and happiness. It really was a pleasure.

Pricing: the same services in America was near 6x the cost of having the care here with Dr. Julian. It was worth every penny and more.

All I can say is that Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry has literally changed my life and I couldn’t be a bigger cheerleader for their practice. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you"

"From the time i contacted CCD and received my initial consultation from Dr Azarte, my experience could not have been better. Every step in process from the initial extractions to the final Dentures and Crowns was professional and caring.

Everyone I worked with (Dr, Elizabeth, Dr Julian, Dr Eric, Dr Azarte, Dr Carlos, Patty, Elizabeth, Enid (and a few I'm forgetting) always made sure I understood the process and checked on me every step of the way even when I was home between visits.

The final result was better than i ever expected and at a price i could actually afford. This never could have happened at home.

My experience mirrors that of the 3 other friends that have had dentures and crowns done at CCD and I would recommend this practice and their work to others that need it.

Finally, for the first time in many years I can genuinely smile and not be ashamed and that has been the best result of all."

Aftercare: Making Your Crowns Last

  • Brush & Floss: Treat your crowned tooth like any other, twice a day brushing and daily flossing.
  • Avoid Hard Bites: Steer clear of ice cubes, hard candies, or anything that puts extreme pressure on your new crown.
  • Annual Checkups: Get regular cleanings and evaluations; well-cared-for crowns can last 10+ years.
  • Watch for Grinding: If you clench or grind, consider a night guard to protect your investment.

Common Questions Our Patients Ask

Does getting a dental crown hurt?

We keep you comfortable with local anesthesia or, if needed, sedation for anxious patients. You’ll feel little more than mild pressure—no significant pain. Afterward, expect minimal soreness that fades quickly.

How long do dental crowns last?

With proper care—like good brushing, flossing, and routine checkups—crowns can last 10–15 years or even longer. Avoid biting on extremely hard objects to maximize their lifespan.

Will my crown match my other teeth?

Yes. We custom-shade each crown to blend seamlessly with your smile. Our lab technicians use FDA-approved materials and advanced color-matching techniques for a natural look.

Is sedation available if I’m anxious about drilling?

Absolutely. We provide IV sedation or oral sedation options, ensuring a calm and worry-free experience. Many patients with dental anxiety find this invaluable.

Do I need a root canal before getting a crown?

Not necessarily. A root canal is only required if the tooth’s pulp is infected or severely damaged. If your tooth is structurally sound (aside from external damage or decay), a crown alone can restore it.

What’s the difference between porcelain and zirconia crowns?

Porcelain is known for its natural translucency and aesthetics, ideal for front teeth. Zirconia offers exceptional strength—great for back teeth or if you grind. Both look natural and are metal-free.

How many visits does the procedure take?

Typically two visits over about 7–8 days. The first for tooth prep and impressions, the second for final placement. Some single-crown cases may finish in as little as 3–5 days, depending on our lab’s schedule.

How do I care for my new crown?

Treat it like a natural tooth: brush twice a day, floss daily, and get regular cleanings. Avoid chewing ice or sticky candies. If you notice any discomfort or looseness, contact us for an evaluation.
